Eligibility

The contest is open to all! All entries should be submitted on an individual basis. No shared work is allowed.

Entry Limit

Up to two poster designs per person.

Entry Deadline

Entries must be submitted as a shared file to the link below or vidaliaporchfest@gmail.com by Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11:59pm.

1. Poster Requirements

Objective

Design or propose a poster to encourage and promote Vidalia Porchfest and The Altama Museum of Art & History. All subject matter must be in good taste.

Copy

Poster designs should contain:

  • The name of the event (Vidalia Porchfest) and/or our event logo and the name or logo of (The Altama Museum of Art & History). Logos are shown below.

  • The date: November 9, 2024

A small credit line with your name is allowed.

Poster Size

Poster can be horizontal or vertical, measuring at least 8.5” by 11” up to 11” x 17″.

Media

Any mixed media suitable for reproduction as a poster is allowed, including computer-generated graphics. Posters must be two-dimensional. All posters must be original art. No trademarked or copyrighted images or phrases should be used, with the exception of the museum logo, if applicable.

Submission Format

Digital designs should be submitted via Google Forms to Google Drive here or shared to vidaliaporchfest@gmail.com as a 300 dpi JPG or PDF. If submitting a traditional painting or drawing, it should be scanned and sent as a 300 dpi JPG or PDF or dropped off at The Altama Museum at 611 Jackson Street in Vidalia.

Winners

One winner will be chosen by a panel of community judges and announced on or before October 2, 2024.

The winning poster design may be displayed at The Altama Museum, reproduced on promotional materials such as mailers and flyers, reproduced on the official Altama Museum and Vidalia Porchfest website, www.altamamuseum.org, and on social media channels at the sole discretion of The Altama Museum and Vidalia Porchfest. The Altama Museum and Vidalia Porchfest will assume full ownership of the content, including any profits if the poster is associated with a sale. Alterations to the design may be made for formatting purposes and clarity.

2. Rights

All winning entries become the property of The Altama Museum and Vidalia Porchfest.

Except as used by The Altama Museum and Vidalia Porchfest, all artists, including the winner, will retain the rights to their work. Entry in the contest constitutes full permission to publish names and photos of winners and submissions without further compensation. The determination of eligibility of entries and any interpretation of these rules is at the sole discretion of The Altama Museum and Vidalia Porchfest, and shall be final and binding upon all entrants.

By participating, the entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these rules.
